Douglas E. Glantzer,

Age 59, of East Canton, passed away Friday evening in the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. Born in Canton he was a life resident of Stark County, a 1970 graduate of Canton South High School and he was employed by the Suarez Corporation International. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his parents: Richard G. and Doris M. Glantzer of East Canton; brothers: Darren G. Glantzer of East Canton, Dodd M. (Karen) Glantzer of Canton; sister: Dawn E. (Fred) Horner of Massillon; nephew: Ryan (Tricia) Horner; niece: Kara (Chuck) Horner; great-nephew: Ryder Horner; great- niece: Kamryn Markley and his special friend: Janet Shonk of Canton. There will be a private funeral service in the Wackerly Funeral Home on Thursday with Fr. Benson Okpara officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. There will be no calling hours but the family would appreciate cards of sympathy. The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Medical Center and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of your choice.

    I am so sorry for your loss.  I knew Doug at the Timken Company.  He was the nicest and extremely helpful person to work with.  He will truly be missed!

    my husband mike himes went to school with doug and i also had the pleasure of knowing this quiet, kind person.  our thoughts and prayers are with the family.  god takes care of him now.
